Privacy Policy

Overview

Botle.ai is self-hosted software. There is no Botle.ai cloud that receives your data: everything the app stores lives on the server of whoever operates the instance you are using ("the operator"). This policy describes what stays on that server and what leaves it, and only because you connected a third-party service.

Data Stored on Your Instance

The following never leave the operator's server unless stated below:

• chats, messages, and generated or uploaded images (local database)
• settings, themes, and usage statistics
• AI provider API keys you enter in settings
• OAuth tokens for accounts you connect (Google, GitHub)
• WhatsApp gateway session data for sessions you create

Third-Party Services You Connect

When you configure or connect an external service, the minimum data needed for that service to work is sent to it:

• AI providers — prompts and attachments you send are processed by whichever provider and model you select, under your own API key and that provider's terms.
• Google — account email and OAuth tokens for Gemini, Drive, or speech features you enable; governed by Google's privacy policy.
• GitHub — repository access exclusively through tokens or OAuth scopes you grant; governed by GitHub's privacy statement.
• content sources — public feeds and media (for example 9gag) are fetched from their CDNs when you open them.
• infrastructure — the web interface may be served through a CDN (Vercel) and the backend reached through an encrypted tunnel (Cloudflare); these carriers see encrypted traffic metadata only.

What We Never Do

• no analytics, trackers, or fingerprinting in the interface
• no advertising, and your data is never sold or shared for marketing
• no data collection by the Botle.ai software itself beyond what is listed above

Security

API keys and OAuth tokens are stored on the operator's server so the app can act on your behalf. Protect the server and its admin credentials accordingly; anyone with server access can read them. Use a unique password and keep the host system updated.

Retention and Deletion

Chats and images you delete in the app are removed from the instance database. Data already sent to a third-party provider (for example a prompt processed by an AI model) is subject to that provider's retention policy. Backups, if the operator keeps any, follow the operator's own schedule.
